URG Viewer

URG Viewer is a dedicated utility application used to read, visualize, and analyze distance measurement data captured by Hokuyo URG-series LiDAR sensors (Scanning Laser Rangefinders). Key Features and Functionality

Real-Time Visualization: The software plots raw range data on an X and Y coordinate grid, transforming raw sensor values into distinct 2D or multi-echo waveforms.

Data Playback: It allows developers to log sensor outputs and reconstruct the environment later by replaying recorded sent and received data streams.

Multi-Echo Comparison: Built-in visual tools provide custom color-coding, making it easy to identify individual reflections when a laser pulse strikes multiple surfaces.

SCIP Protocol Integration: It functions natively over the standard Sensor Communication Interface Protocol (SCIP 2.x) utilized by Hokuyo hardware. Software Alternatives

The original URG Viewer utility has largely been replaced or augmented by a newer, official tool from Hokuyo called URG Benri. URG Benri runs on Windows OS and features a cleaner interface alongside a plugin-based architecture, which allows users to view and record data from multiple physical sources simultaneously.

Note: If you are instead looking for UE Viewer (the Unreal Engine resource viewer used to extract game models, commonly known as umodel), or AURGA Viewer (the hardware wireless touchscreen extender), please let me know so I can provide the right details.
